My Experience as an IT Member at Ghent Slush’D

Ghent Slush'D is a local spin-off of the renowned Slush Helsinki event, organized by volunteers to inspire and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. Being part of the IT team at such an impactful event was an exciting and rewarding experience.

Key Contributions

Negotiating with Software Vendors

I worked on finding the right tools to manage event operations, balancing needs, scalability, and budget constraints.

Automating Processes

Using tools like Integromat (Make), I set up automations to streamline workflows, such as attendee management and communications.

Applying DDP Thinking (Inspired by BCG)

Drawing from BCG’s Data and Digital Platforms (DDP) approach, I focused on building a modular and scalable IT setup. This ensured system stability while making it easier to integrate new tools and handle future updates seamlessly.

Lessons Learned

From integrating multiple systems to ensuring stability under pressure, the experience taught me the importance of adaptability, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving. Being part of such an inspiring, volunteer-driven event was both a challenge and a privilege!
